Manchester United identify Victor Osimhen as Viktor Gyokeres alternative, face battle with Tottenham for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo - Paper Round

Manchester United could target Victor Osimhen if they are unable to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, while Tottenham Hotspur could beat them in the race for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. Elsewhere, Manchester City are yet to find new clubs for both Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish, and Aston Villa are keen on Real Betis left winger Jesus Rodriguez.

United consider Osimhen

Manchester United would consider a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen if they fail in their hunt for Viktor Gyokeres.
However, the problem for United is that they may have to cough up huge wages to match Osimhen’s demands.
The Sun reports: "Swede Gyokeres’ relationship with Sporting Lisbon appears to be completely broken down after the Portuguese club attempted to jack up his asking price after agreeing he could leave for £59 million.
"But while Ruben Amorim wants to be reunited with the former Brighton and Coventry striker, who scored 57 goals in 57 games under him at the Estadio Alvalade, United are also aware of Osimhen’s availability.
"The Nigerian spent last term on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, where he was not wanted by Antonio Conte.
"But the striker’s Galatasaray contract is understood to be worth £300,000 per week after tax, which would equate to around £500,000 weekly in the UK - a figure United cannot afford to pay."

Tottenham make offer for Mbeumo

Tottenham’s new boss Thomas Frank could be reunited with his former player Bryan Mbeumo, according to the Mirror.
Spurs have made a £70 million offer for the wide forward, putting them closer to Brentford’s valuation for the 25-year-old.
The Mirror writes: "Spurs have launched a £70 million bid to hijack Manchester United’s move for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. The north Londoners’ offer is worth £65 million plus £5 million in add-ons, £10 million more than United’s.
"As revealed by Mirror Football last week, new Spurs boss Thomas Frank wants to take 25-year-old Mbeumo with him to north London. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants to deliver the Cameroon international as a statement signing for Ange Postecoglu’s successor.
"But United remain the preferred destination for Mbeumo, who scored 20 Premier League goals for Brentford over the past season.
"United have already made two bids for Mbeumo, the most recent of which was a £60 million package worth £55 million plus £5 million in add-ons last week. Brentford refused to accept it, leaving the door open for Spurs to come in with what could now be a decisive offer."

Walker yet to find new club

Kyle Walker looks to have no future at Manchester City after AC Milan elected not to sign him at the end of his loan spell.
Now back with Pep Guardiola’s side, he will not be taken to the upcoming Club World Cup, and the Daily Mail believes he and Jack Grealish are yet to find new options.
The paper explains: "Kyle Walker’s permanent summer move to AC Milan is off but the Manchester City captain still has no future under Pep Guardiola.
"The Italian giants have decided against taking up their modest option on the loan right back and his immediate future remains uncertain.
"Walker featured 11 times for AC Milan since moving to the San Siro in January but surprisingly won back his England place under Thomas Tuchel, criticised for his role in a friendly defeat by Senegal.
"The 35-year-old was not included in City’s squad for the Club World Cup and could be set for another loan next season. Fenerbahce have been credited with interest.
"Meanwhile, City have yet to field concrete offers for another absentee in America, Jack Grealish. "

Villa move for Rodriguez

Aston Villa may move Leon Bailey on in the summer, with the winger attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.
One potential replacement is Real Betis’ 19-year-old Jesus Rodriguez, who plays on the left.
The Athletic states: "Aston Villa have made an approach to sign Real Betis winger Jesus Rodriguez.
"Villa’s main focus is to balance books before the June 30 profitability and sustainability deadline, but the club also want to sign a wide player and Rodriguez is among the options senior figures have contacted to outline parameters of a potential deal.
"He is a winger who plays predominantly on the left flank and was a second-half substitute in the side’s Conference League final defeat to Chelsea.
"Leon Bailey is expected to leave in this window, with Saudi Arabian clubs expressing an interest."
