Man Utd ready to seal Cunha deal
Manchester United are planning to pay the ÂŁ62.5 million asking price for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha.
The 25-year-old could join early in the transfer window as Ruben Amorim looks to do his business swiftly.
The Mirror writes: "Cunha is poised to leave Wolves for United in the summer transfer window with Ruben Amorim’s side in advanced talks with the Brazilian.
"United are ready to pay the £62.5m fee attached to Cunha’s exit clause and are confident of getting a deal over the line early in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old has been in excellent form this season, but his behaviour – both on and off the pitch – has riled Wolves supporters.
"Cunha served a four-game ban for clashing with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and has clashed with fans on social media.Â
"He made it clear he wanted to leave Wolves in January before signing a new contract with a hefty exit clause and those factors have combined to upset some supporters."
Aston Villa keen on Rashford deal
Aston Villa would like to complete a ÂŁ40m deal for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
However, the Express points out that Rashford may want to see if Villa first get UEFA Champions League football next year.
The paper explains: "Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has heaped praise on Marcus Rashford's adaptability, suggesting it's key to the club's ambitions going forward. The Manchester United loanee has been a revelation since his January switch, outshining Ollie Watkins and becoming a pivotal figure in Villa's attack.
"Rashford found himself sidelined at Old Trafford after a prolonged dip in form but has since reignited his career at Villa Park, impressing with his versatility across the front line.Â
"As summer approaches, the future of Rashford and the relationship between the two clubs remains a hot topic.
"Villa can sign Rashford for ÂŁ40m this summer, should he desire a permanent switch. The prospect of another season of Champions League football looms - an ambition both player and club share."
Arsenal target Kounde
Barcelona defender Jules Kounde could be a target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.
The Frenchman could be available for a fee of ÂŁ55m and is favoured by Mikel Arteta.
The paper writes: "Arsenal aren't just preparing for the biggest European clash in their modern history, but also for a busy transfer window.
"Barcelona's Jules Kounde has emerged as a potential defensive target as Mikel Arteta seeks to bolster his squad.
"France ace Kounde is now the established first-choice right back at the Camp Nou after joining from Sevilla in a ÂŁ42m move when he rejected an offer from Chelsea to stay in La Liga.
"But the 26-year-old Parisian had previously signalled his preference for playing in the middle of the defence, a versatility that has massive appeal to Arteta, who is ready to make a ÂŁ55m offer if he senses a deal is possible."
Delap release clause explained
Liam Delap has a £30m release clause as a result of Ipswich Town’s relegation, and the Manchester Evening News explained the permutations.
While City are unlikely to want the player next season, they could activate their ÂŁ40m buyback clause and sell him on for a profit.
The paper notes: "Delap has a widely-reported ÂŁ30m release clause in the event of relegation that will alert a number of Premier League rivals, and City will have a part to play in any transfer race given their buy-back clause.
"With Erling Haaland signed up for another nine years and Omar Marmoush signing for ÂŁ59m in January, another striker isn't a top priority this summer - even at a relatively cheap price of ÂŁ30m or less for a homegrown player.
"Alternatively, City may happily bank the 20% sell-on clause they are owed from any sale of Delap, which would be between ÂŁ2m-ÂŁ6m, depending on whether the clause entitles them to 20% of the overall sale or just the profit Ipswich make on their star forward.
"Or could City go nuclear and activate their ÂŁ40m buy-back option before exploiting the considerable interest in him and sell him for even more? A 22-year-old English goalscorer with heaps of potential could easily generate tens of millions more in today's market - especially if United and their questionable record of transfer fees are in the mix."
