Red Devils plan summer clear-out
Marcus Rashford is likely to be sold by Manchester United in the summer as they have earmarked at least six players to leave.
Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho and Antony are players on loan who could all be sold, and Christian Eriksen and Casemiro are set to leave too.
The Mirror writes: "Manchester United are banking on six exits this summer in order to boost their coffers and to help transform the club's fortunes.
"[Manager, Ruben] Amorim had limited funds for his first transfer window in charge of the club, with United hamstrung by the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules after a history of heavy spending. Signing wing-back Patrick Dorgu in a ÂŁ25 million deal from Lecce and Arsenal youngster Ayden Heaven during January was the only business United could complete.
"The same window saw Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia leave on loan for Aston Villa, Real Betis and PSV Eindhoven respectively. United will hope in the summer to secure the trio's permanent departures in addition to at least three more players, in order to operate more freely.
"Chelsea are set to be obligated to pay ÂŁ20m for Jadon Sancho's services in the summer, while United will also hope to find a club for former Real Madrid star Casemiro. Christian Eriksen, meanwhile, will see his contract at Old Trafford expire."
United contact Palace over Mateta move
Rumours in France suggest that Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta has been contacted by Manchester United.
The 27-year-old forward would reportedly cost around ÂŁ40 million to complete a summer transfer.
The Express reports: "Adding a Premier League-proven goalscorer to their ranks could be the perfect remedy for Amorim and co., with Mateta having emerged as a potential candidate. As per L’Equipe, United are believed to have already opened talks with their Premier League counterparts regarding a potential move for Mateta.
"The 27-year-old is contracted at Selhurst Park until the summer of 2027, meaning Palace aren't in a rush to sell and would command a hefty fee for his signature. And according to the outlet, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos will likely have to part way with around ÂŁ40 million if they wish to sign Mateta in the off-season.
"Mateta is currently out of action after he suffered an injury following a collision with Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts during Palace's FA Cup fifth-round clash last weekend. The attacker was hospitalised following the incident and while he avoided a serious injury, Mateta remains out of action."
Neymar linked with European return
Neymar has been linked with a move to Barcelona or Bayern Munich this summer, news in Spain suggests.
The Daily Mail relays details of a surprise possible move for the 33-year-old, who is currently playing for Santos in Brazil.
The paper states: "Neymar's agent has been in talks with European giants Barcelona and Bayern Munich over a summer transfer, according to a report.Â
"The Brazilian has begun to rediscover his form since completing a fairytale return to his boyhood club Santos in January.Â
"Neymar has three goals and three assists in seven games for the outfit and this week was called up to the national team for the first time in almost 18 months following a torrid spell with injury.Â
"Despite reports that Santos would be keen for the 33-year-old to stay beyond the end of the season, according to Spanish outlet Sport, Neymar's agent Pini Zahavi has been in talks over a potential move to Spain or Germany."
Furuhashi Rennes exit talk mounts
Kyogo Furuhashi left Celtic in the winter transfer window to join Ligue 1 side Rennes, but is struggling to establish himself in the first team.
The Daily Record suggests that the Japan international striker may be facing a swift departure.
The paper reports: "Since Habib Beye replaced Jorge Sampaoli in the dugout - just days after his ÂŁ10 million move away from the Scottish Premiership - the Japan international has been relegated to the fringes of the squad.
"But while Beye would opt to go with a lone striker against Luis Enrique's PSG he would go with 17-year-old Mohamed Meite ahead of experienced Kyogo to lead the line. It was Meite's first start for the club - having made just four appearances throughout the full campaign to this stage.
"The decision comes with speculation ramping up that Kyogo could already be shown the door just months after his Celtic Park exit."
