Manchester United identify £25m-rated Serie A striker Lorenzo Lucca as priority target this summer - Paper Round

Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, with the Italian said to be worth £25 million. Elsewhere, to capture the signature of Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, Arsenal will have to make the Spain international one of their highest-paid earners, and Newcastle are bracing themselves for a bid for Sandro Tonali from Juventus.

Manchester United have identified Udinese's Lorenzo Lucca as their top striker target this summer, claims The Sun.
The 6ft 7in forward has scored 18 Serie A goals over the past two seasons since joining Udinese from Ajax.
"Udinese are looking for just £25 million this summer for a striker who would become the Prem’s tallest outfield player since Peter Crouch retired in 2019," states the outlet.
"That fits with United’s financial model, although they would face potential competition from Juventus and Milan."

Williams will demand significant Arsenal salary

Arsenal will have to make Nico Williams one of their top earners if they are to land the Athletic Club forward.
The Telegraph suggests the north London club would have to offer Williams a salary in the same bracket as Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.
"Arsenal will have to put Nico Williams in their highest bracket of earners if they are to sign the Spain winger this summer, Telegraph Sport understands," reads the article.
"Arsenal are long-term admirers of the 22-year-old and have explored the possibility of recruiting him from Athletic Bilbao in previous transfer windows.

"The challenge with Williams is not only his release clause at Athletic, which is thought to be around £50 million, but also the winger’s salary requirements.
"Williams already earns a huge wage in Spain - he is believed to take home significantly more than £100,000-a-week after tax, in large part because of Athletic’s unique policy of only fielding players from the Basque Country.
"Sources have told Telegraph Sport that the winger’s representatives would expect him to be placed into the same bracket as top-earning stars such as Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, who are believed to be earning in the region of £250,000 a week."

Juve ready to make Tonali offer

Juventus want to take Sandro Tonali back to Italy and are prepared to offer Newcastle a player and cash to seal the deal.
Tonali left AC Milan for Newcastle in 2023 for a fee in the region of £55 million, but two years later Juve are said to be desperate to sign him.
They could offer Newcastle £33m plus Douglas Luiz, defender Federico Gatti or Dusan Vlahovic.
"Juventus are considering a cash-plus-player offer to tempt Newcastle into selling Sandro Tonali, according to reports," states The Sun.
"The Old Lady are said to have ‘made contact’ with Newcastle and are ready to offer them cash and a player to seal the deal.
"La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Tonali is valued at between £50m and £58m.
"Juventus are reportedly going to offer the Toon £33m and one of three stars they want to offload.
"Douglas Luiz is top of the list after failing to settle into life in Turin following his switch from Aston Villa last summer.
"Eddie Howe's side showed an interest in centre-back Federico Gatti before and he is another who could be offered to them.
"Juventus are aware Newcastle may be in the market for a striker if they cash in on Alexander Isak and are therefore weighing up throwing Dusan Vlahovic into discussions."
