United want Brentford striker Mbeumo
Manchester United are interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ striker Matheus Cunha, but are readying an offer for another forward.
The Telegraph claims that United are ready to battle Newcastle and Liverpool for Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo.
The paper writes: "Manchester United are ready to join the race for Bryan Mbeumo when competition for the ÂŁ60 million-rated Brentford forward intensifies during the summer transfer window.
"Mbeumo, 25, is expected to attract bids from Premier League clubs at the end of the campaign and is understood to be high on the list of United’s potential targets to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad.
"Telegraph Sport reported last week that Newcastle hold a strong interest in the French-born Cameroon international, while Liverpool have been linked with him in previous windows.
"United are set to be active in the transfer market as Amorim looks to shape his team in his first pre-season and full campaign at Old Trafford. He had admitted it was a risk to allow Marcus Rashford and Antony to leave in the January window, but their departures were for the good of the team, with the inference that he is planning long-term without them.
"Wolves striker Matheus Cunha, who has a ÂŁ65 million buyout clause, is a target for United in the summer but has been most effective through the middle as a No. 9. Interest in Mbeumo is independent of the Cunha deal, with the former Troyes forward regarded as one of the best wide forwards in the Premier League."
Atletico enter race for Antony
Antony is impressing in La Liga for Real Betis after joining on loan from Manchester United, and they hope to strike another loan deal.
However, The Mirror believes that Atletico Madrid could land the Brazilian forward for ÂŁ34 million.
The paper explains: "Atletico Madrid have already enquired about the possibility of signing Antony from Manchester United this summer as the Red Devils prepare to offload the 25-year-old. The club could accept a fee in the region of ÂŁ34 million and are prepared to cut their losses but will now hope to drive that price up.
"The Brazil international has so far failed to set the pitch alight at Old Trafford following an ÂŁ86m move from Ajax in August 2022. But a loan to Real Betis earlier this year has seen him quickly find his feet in La Liga.
"For their part, Betis believe Antony has already given them his word. They would be more interested in agreeing another loan deal with United, however.
"Meanwhile, reports in Spain claim that Atletico have made contact over the possibility of agreeing a deal this summer. And that could leave United determined to drive an auction."
Juventus keen on Hojlund
Another United forward who could be on the move this summer is struggling striker Rasmus Hojlund.
He could return to Serie A, according to the Express, who relay reports in Italy that state Juventus want the Danish player.
The paper states: "Juventus are in talks with Manchester United over the potential signing of Rasmus Hojlund this summer and will make a concrete approach soon, according to reports. Hojlund's future at Old Trafford is shrouded by uncertainty amid a difficult second season, in which he's notched just four goals in 29 Premier League games.
"The United No. 9's lack of goals has heavily contributed to his side's poor attacking record this term, condemning the club to a record-low finish. Since Ruben Amorim's arrival in November, he has been widely expected to prioritise the capture of a new striker in his first summer transfer window. With those plans reportedly in motion, Hojlund is being linked with a possible return to Italy, two years after leaving Atalanta in a ÂŁ72 million deal."
Mason a target for West Brom
West Bromwich Albion are interested in appointing Tottenham assistant coach Ryan Mason as a replacement for Tony Mowbray.
The Sun suggests that any move could be delayed as Mason waits to see how his current club fare in the Europa League.
The paper reports: "Tottenham’s Europa League progress is causing problems for West Brom’s bid to land coach Ryan Mason as boss.
"Highly-rated Mason, 33, is part of Ange Postecoglou’s staff and Spurs’ desperate need to win the competition is his priority.
"The Baggies are willing to wait before deciding on their next manager, but a delay over Mason leaves the door open for other candidates to move into pole position.
"Tony Mowbray was sacked by West Brom last month after getting only five wins in 18 league games, ending their play-off hopes."
