Liverpool eye ambitious bid for Wirtz

Liverpool are intent on breaking a club record after launching a £109 million bid for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
The Guardian reports that The Reds are ready to make their move after confirming the signing of Wirtz’ team-mate Jeremie Frimpong on Friday.
The article states: "Liverpool have started ambitious plans to build on their Premier League title triumph by submitting a club record £109m bid for Florian Wirtz.
"Liverpool head coach, Arne Slot, considers Wirtz an ideal option to improve his Premier League champions and the club moved quickly to open talks with Leverkusen once the coveted 22-year-old rejected a move to Bayern Munich.
"The offer for the Germany international is £109m (€130m) including add-ons and eclipses comfortably Liverpool’s transfer record of £85m for Darwin Nunez.
"Negotiations have progressed swiftly but it remains to be seen whether Leverkusen will sell at that price.
"The German club valued Wirtz, who can play anywhere across the front line, at £126m (€150m) when Bayern made their approach.
"Liverpool’s position is strengthened by the fact Wirtz, capped 29 times by Germany, wants to join them and is keen on a fresh challenge abroad after five years in the Bundesliga."

Al Hilal confident of signing Fernandes

Al Hilal are confident of signing Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United, according to The Telegraph.
The outlet claims the Saudi Pro League club have held "positive talks" over the Manchester United captain.
The report continues: "The Saudi Arabia champions have made Fernandes, 30, their main summer target and want to wrap up a move before the Fifa Club World Cup starts in a fortnight.
"Discussions over a stunning transfer have accelerated in the past few days with Fernandes’s agent, Miguel Pinho, holding talks in the Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh which have led to Al Hilal believing there is a genuine possibility of a deal.
"The Saudi Pro League (SPL) winners are looking to make up to three signings this summer and take advantage of United’s financial problems with a deal that could be worth between £80 million to £100m.
"Fernandes is giving serious consideration to leaving United after six seasons and at the end of a campaign where he has clearly been their best player. Al Hilal would offer him a handsome package to switch to the SPL, and are moving quickly to get ready for their summer tournament in America."
