Arsenal weigh up striker options
RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko could fetch £92.5 million, according to a report in The Telegraph.
Given the huge asking price, Arsenal are also looking at a move for Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, who may well be cheaper.
The Telegraph claims: "RB Leipzig have put an asking price of £92.5 million on Benjamin Sesko ahead of a summer when Premier League clubs will make bids for the Slovenia striker.
"Arsenal have shortlisted the 21-year-old who has broken the 20-goal barrier this season in Germany, while other clubs in England have been long-term admirers since he emerged at Red Bull Salzburg.
"Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, the 26-year-old Sweden international, is also on Arsenal’s shortlist and the former Coventry City player could go for between £60 million and £70 million."
Rashford in Barcelona talks
Marcus Rashford’s brother has reportedly met Barcelona sporting director Deco with a view to a £40 million transfer.
The Spaniards have long been linked with the Manchester United forward, who has impressed on loan at Aston Villa this season.
The Daily Mail explains: "Marcus Rashford's brother Dwaine Maynard held talks with Barcelona sporting director Deco in Spain on Wednesday over a potential £40 million move for the Manchester United star.
"Rashford is expected to leave United this summer after falling out with Ruben Amorim and has been keen on joining Barca for some time.
"Having confirmed the Catalan club’s interest in Rashford last week, Deco is understood to have met the player’s representative Maynard at a hotel in the city on Wednesday.
"Rashford, who is under contract at Old Trafford for another three years, is unlikely to play for his boyhood club again while Amorim remains in charge.
"United want to move the 27-year-old’s £315,000-a-week salary off their wage bill after he spent the second half of this season on loan at Aston Villa, and will listen to offers of £40m."
Slot looking for new striker
Darwin Nunez is likely on his way out at Liverpool as Arne Slot looks to bring in a new forward alongside Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz.
Hugo Ekitike, Julian Alvarez and Benjamin Sesko are all in the frame to replace the struggling Uruguayan.
The Mirror reports: "Arne Slot is keen to get the club’s transfer dealings done early this summer and they are poised to sign Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen. Frimpong has already agreed to a £29.5million move and a five-year contract, while Liverpool are understood to have submitted an opening bid of €100m (£85m) plus add-ons for Wirtz.
"Leverkusen are holding out for more and believe the 22-year-old is worth over £100m. If the German side get what they want, then it would represent a club record for Liverpool, whose most expensive signing remains the £85m – made up of £64m plus add-ons – they paid Benfica for Nunez in June 2022.
"Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, but have also monitored Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig and Atleti’s Julian Alvarez."
Henderson linked with Sunderland return
The Sun believes that Jordan Henderson could soon be on his way back to the Premier League.
The 34-year-old midfielder is tipped to leave Ajax, and Sunderland are keen on re-signing the veteran.
The paper writes: "Jordan Henderson could make a big return to the Premier League this summer.
"Henderson, 34, left English football in 2023 following 12 spectacular years at Liverpool that saw him win every major honour.
"The defensive midfielder has the option to trigger an additional year at Ajax but has received interest from the Premier League and Serie A.
"And that could lead him to an emotional return to former club Sunderland.
"The newly-promoted Black Cats are believed to be still considering whether to try to re-sign Henderson this summer."
