Manchester United may start the season with Dean Henderson in goal as the Andre Onana saga rumbles on, while they could be in the hunt for Porto's striker Medhi Taremi after his agent dropped a hint. Elsewhere, Aleksandar Mitrovic of Fulham and Liverpool's Jordan Henderson are both wanted by Saudi Pro League clubs, who continue their big spending plans.

United consider Onana alternative

Dean Henderson could be Manchester United’s No. 1 at the start of the season, as United and Inter Milan remain at an impasse over the fee for the player.
The Mail states: “Manchester United are yet to agree a fee with Inter Milan for Andre Onana and Mail Sport understands they have not ruled out keeping Dean Henderson as No 1 next season if they can’t reach a compromise.
“Inter are holding out for £51million for the Cameroonian but United have insisted they will not go above £43m as they look to replace David de Gea.
“Henderson has been lined up for a £20m move to Nottingham Forest after spending last season on loan at the City Ground, but boss Erik ten Hag is not ready to sell him yet.”

Agent drops United striker hint

Mehdi Taremi’s agent, Borna Khoramdel, posted a picture of Manchester United’s badge on Instagram, and The Sun reports the player is a target for Erik ten Hag’s side.
“The agent of one of Manchester United's top transfer targets sent fans into a frenzy after appearing to post a picture from Old Trafford on Instagram,” the paper writes of the development.
“Borna Khoramdel, CEO of Arvand Sport - the agency that represents Porto star Mehdi Taremi - posted an image of United's badge on Wednesday morning.
“The Red Devils first expressed an interest in signing Taremi at the beginning of July.
“He is viewed as an alternative attacking option to Harry Kane, who is understood to be far too expensive for Erik ten Hag.

Henderson considers Liverpool departure

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has been offered £700,000-a-week in wages to join Al-Ettifaq, now managed by Steven Gerrard.
The Mirror believes he could now be tempted to leave his current club.
“Jordan Henderson will hold talks with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp within the next 24 hours after being offered a mammoth salary to move to the Saudi Pro League by a team who have not won the title for 36 years,” the report claims.
“Henderson has spent more than a decade at Anfield, taking over as the Reds' captain eight years ago. As skipper, he has lifted the Premier League title, the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Champions League.
“But his time at the club now looks set to come to an end after Saudi Arabian bosses singled him out as their next statement signing. The Saudi Pro League has been on a massive spending spree as they attempt to make their country a destination for top stars.
“Henderson is the latest to be eyed for a mega-money move to the Middle East. Al-Ettifaq, who finished seventh last season and have not won the title since 1987, are the team interested.”

Fulham determined to keep Mitrovic

Fulham have been offered £25 million for their 29-year-old striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The striker, however, is one of Fulham’s key players and the bid has been rejected.
The Telegraph states: “Fulham have rejected a bid of around £25 million from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal for Aleksandar Mitrovic and are insistent that the striker is not for sale.
“Mitrovic has become the latest player to be targeted by the Saudi Pro League after his impressive performances in the Premier League last season. Telegraph Sport understands that Mitrovic wants to make the move.
“The 28-year-old was Fulham’s top scorer in the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 15 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.”
