Moises Caicedo’s future has finally been resolved as the Ecuador international has completed a move to Chelsea in a deal worth £115million. The midfielder has put pen to paper on an eight-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031, with the option of a further year. Liverpool looked primed to hijack a deal, but the Blues have won the race to sign him from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Chelsea have fought off strong competition to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion in a British record deal worth £115million.
The 21-year-old was in demand by clubs across Europe after he played an integral role in Brighton’s highest-ever league finish last campaign, which helped the South Coast club secure European football.
Liverpool looked like they may hijack a potential deal after seeing their own £110m bid accepted by Brighton, but the midfielder stated his preference on a move to Stamford Bridge instead.
The Ecuadorian made 53 total appearances for Brighton across two seasons and was named the club's Men's Player of the Season for 2022/23.
At international level, Caicedo has already represented Ecuador 32 times and scored in one of his three World Cup appearances - a 2-1 loss against Senegal in Qatar.
Caicedo signed fresh terms with The Seagulls in January following a failed £70m pursuit from Arsenal, but seemed determined for a new challenge this season despite Brighton’s efforts to keep him.
"I am so happy to join Chelsea," Caicedo told the Chelsea website.
"I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me, I just knew I wanted to sign for the club.
"It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait to get started with the team."
Caicedo began his career at Independiente del Valle in his home country before making a £4.5m deadline-day switch to Brighton in January 2021.
After spending the first half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Beerschot V.A. in Belgium, he was recalled to the Amex for the second half of the season under Graham Potter and made his Premier League debut in a 2-1 win over Arsenal.
He scored his first goal for the club in a memorable 4-0 victory against Manchester United.
The midfielder now follows in footsteps of former Seagulls team-mate Robert Sanchez in making the move from Sussex to west London, while Marc Cucurella also arrived last summer in a £60m deal.
