Sofyan Amrabat had hoped to join Barcelona from Fiorentina but secret talks stopped a deal going ahead, while Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is worried he is being forced out of the Premier League club. Elsewhere, Jack Harrison may now sign a new contract and former Manchester United winger Bebe has moved onto another club, this time in the Spanish second tier.

Fiorentina reject secret negotiations

Sofyan Ambrabat’s agent had proposed to Barcelona that they sign the 26-year-old Fiorentina midfielder on loan with no obligation to buy, and Spanish newspaper Marca reports that the Italian club were unaware of the negotiations.
That led them to unsurprisingly dismiss any chance of a late deadline day move.
“A second deal was put in front of Barcelona that removed the mandatory buy option at the end of the season, and given that La Liga had already communicated that the Catalan club was within FFP regulations for the winter market, a deal looked likely to be pushed through with the player himself keen on arriving at the Camp Nou,” the paper claims.
“However, Amrabat's current club, Fiorentina had no idea that negotiations were taking place and immediately blocked the possible transfer. Despite Amrabat's pressure the Serie A club would not fold stating that they would have no time to find a replacement.”

Aubameyang unsettled at Chelsea

Chelsea’s 33-year-old Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finds himself on the sidelines at Stamford Bridge and has been left out of the club’s Champions League squad to accommodate new signings.
That has left the veteran forward unsure of his future at Stamford Bridge, and concerned that they want to move him on already, states the Telegraph.
The story says: “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been left shocked and disappointed after being dumped out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad just five months after joining the club.
“Aubameyang’s Chelsea future is now in major doubt with sources close to the player convinced the club want to get rid of him.
“That belief will only have been heightened by the fact that Aubameyang, who was also left out of Chelsea’s squad for Friday night’s Premier League game against Fulham, was not even mentioned in the Blues’ Champions League squad announcement on their official website.”

Harrison set to sign new Leeds deal

Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch believes that 26-year-old attack Jack Harrison will remain at the club and sign a new deal after a £20 million transfer to Leicester City collapsed in the last few hours of the winter transfer window, as he explained to a press conference on Friday.
“We'd been talking with Jack for a while about renegotiating his contract and it's gone well but then been stalled at different moments," the Mail relayed.
“When big offers come in, players have to consider what that might be so I don't fault anyone for visiting the possibility.
“But once we got all the decision makers to align themselves, it was clear we wanted Jack to stay, Jack wanted to stay and that's why he's still here.
“We are visiting getting that contract extension finalised because I think Jack has earned it and he's an important guy in our squad”

Ex-United winger makes new transfer move

Former Manchester United winger Bebe has joined the eighth club of his career as his peripatetic journey continues. The 32-year-old has moved to the second division in Spain on loan from Rayo Vallecano, to play for Real Zaragoza,
.
“He has joined from Rayo Vallecano as he looks to give Zaragoza a boost in their relegation battle in La Liga 2,”
.
“The 32-year-old has been pictured on the club's social media channels in training as he begins his latest adventure.
“Bebe joined Man United in 2010 as a rising star but has since experienced an inconsistent career which has seen him play for several clubs in different countries.”
