Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has added to his ranks with the transfer of Pau Torres from Spanish La Liga side Villarreal. The 26-year-old has completed his move and will now make his first steps on a career outside of Spain. Torres, an established international defender for La Roja, represented his country at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and worked under Emery at Villarreal.

Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Pau Torres from Villarreal.
After guiding Aston Villa away from trouble and into the top half of the Premier League last season, manager Unai Emery is looking to strengthen his squad.
He has used his knowledge of La Liga, and his former club Villarreal in particular, to add to his ranks.
Torres emerged as a key target for Emery, and signed for an undisclosed fee.
The move reunites the 26-year-old with Emery, who coached him for a couple of seasons at Villarreal.
Torres is a product of the Yellow Submarine academy, and made his debut for the club in 2017.
He was out of contract at the end of 2024, and Villarreal elected to cash in rather than risk the prospect of him leaving on a free next summer.
An established Spain international, he was part of the squad at the 2022 World Cup, and as such Torres should add considerable quality to the defensive ranks at Villa Park.
