Arnaut Danjuma appears to have ditched a loan move to Everton in favour of a switch to Tottenham, with the north London club having joined the race at the eleventh hour. Danjuma, who has scored 22 goals in 51 games for Villarreal, completed a medical with the Toffees at the weekend, but is now expected to swerve a relegation battle and link up with Antonio Conte’s Spurs.

Tottenham have hijacked Everton’s move for Arnaut Danjuma, with the Villarreal forward reportedly travelling to north London to discuss a potential move.
Danjuma had completed a medical with the Toffees on Saturday ahead of a proposed loan move to the Premier League strugglers, but Tottenham’s late interest has sparked a dramatic U-turn from the 25-year-old.
The Athletic report that Danjuma, a six-cap Netherlands international, will now have a medical ahead of a loan move until the end of the season.
It caps a difficult 24 hours for Everton, who sacked manager Frank Lampard on Monday with the club 19th in the Premier League table.
Danjuma, who would become Spurs’ first January signing, has scored 22 goals in 51 games for Villarreal.
He previously played for Bournemouth before his move to Spain.
