To Carapaz now, who is back on the famous road to the Alpe. A battered Kuss plugs on.

He's back up quickly, so it must have been as light as you like, but that's the last thing he'd have wanted at this point. Carapaz can see him as they descend, and Kuss is on the ground again! Oh no. This time Carapaz sweeps past.

And it's down to 1'30 with Pogacar riding himself. Remco now has Hindley for company, who could yet lead him out to another stage win.

A 14 second gap as the helicopter pulls back to show them both on the same section of descent. We may have written off the yellow jersey at our peril, as the gap slips to 1'45/

His boss, Marc Reef, provides words of encouragement on the radio, hopefully not distracting him from keeping the bike rubber side down on this gnarly looking descent. It looks good for him to take the win. Surly two minutes is too much for even Tadej Pogacar over the last 4km of climbing?
