With Lecce and Brescia not playing this weekend due to international games, the Genoa took full advantage to take top spot, the three points coming courtesy of goals from Guiseppe Greco, Martins Adailton and Raffaele Longo.
For Arezzo, the misery continues, as they are still unable to make it out of the red and remain on minus two points. Juventus, who also had their game this weekend postponed due to a high number of players involved in international action, now have a game in hand on the Tuscan side and will overtake them should they beat Brescia on Wednesday.
Mantova beat Vicenza 2-0, thanks to goals from Emiliano Tarana and Marco Bernacci, to take second place on goal difference from Brescia, who have a game in hand, albeit against the still mighty Old Lady of Turin.
Napoli joined Mantova and Brescia on 11 points after a 1-0 win over Rimini in Naples, Roberto de Zervi netting the only goal of the game with just nine minutes remaining.
Elsewhere, nothing could separate Treviso and Piacenza, who were locked together in a 1-1 draw, Luigi Beghetto equalising for the hosts after Samuele Olivi had put Piacenza in the lead on the half hour mark.
Modena moved into eighth with a 2-0 win over Pescara, goals coming from Juri Tamburini and Alex Pinardi, whilst to round up the day's action, goalless draws were played out in the matches between Verona and Crotone and Albinoleffe and Spezia.
