In February finance police searched the offices of all 42 football clubs in Italy's top two divisions, the Italian Football Federation and the body that runs the Italian league.

At the time, the clubs denied wrongdoing.

Italian soccer sides, some of which are battling record debts and heavy losses, came under increasing legal scrutiny.
