Ademola Lookman claimed a late winner as Atalanta beat AC Milan 2-1 at the Gewiss Stadium to go top of Serie A.
Former Milan striker Charles De Ketelaere opened the scoring for Atalanta in the first half, only for Alvaro Morata to level proceedings 10 minutes later.
However, Lookman nodded home an 88th-minute winner to see Atalanta claim their ninth successive Serie A win and go two points clear of Napoli at the league summit, albeit having played a game more than the Neapolitans.
Meanwhile, AC Milan, who had been in the midst of a mini-revival in Serie A, languish in seventh on 22 points.
Next up for Atalanta is a UEFA Champions League encounter against reigning kings of Europe Real Madrid on Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, Milan take on Red Star Belgrade in the same competition on Wednesday night. Both games will be live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
On 11 minutes, Atalanta's De Ketelaere, who had endured a dismal goalless campaign at Milan in 2022/23, towered over Theo Hernandez to nod home against his former club.
Milan were quick to respond, however, as Rafael Leao sped down the left flank, before firing a low cross into the box, which was directed into the goal by Morata.

The game lulled either side of half-time, but Atalanta were able to reassert themselves late in the second period.
Indeed, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men ultimately claimed the points as Sead Kolasinac flicked an Atalanta corner to the back-post for Lookman to head the ball into the net.
Atalanta almost made it 3-1 in injury time, but Serie A top scorer Mateo Retegui had his one-on-one effort saved by Mike Maignan.
