AC Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta has been banned for three games after slapping a referee during a Serie A match, the league's disciplinary committee said on Tuesday.
The Brazil international hit the referee with a "light slap" on the arm in order to push him away and was sent off during Milan's 2-1 home win over Bologna on Monday.
He was one of three players to be dismissed in the clash, with Bologna having Nicola Sansone and Mitchell Dijks sent off in the dying stages of the San Siro clash.
The feisty encounter also saw on-loan midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko get involved with a heated discussion with coach Gennaro Gattuso after being called over to replace Lucas Biglia, only for the Milan boss to introduce Jose Mauri instead.
The victory over Bologna leaves Milan in fifth place in Serie A, level on points with Roma and three behind fourth-placed Atalanta in the final Champions League spot.
Paqueta, 21, has made 13 league appearances this season since joining AC Milan from Brazil's Flamengo.
