'I'd go to Chievo' - Mario Balotelli's short repsonse regarding transfer rumour
ByFootballItalia
Mario Balotelli reportedly admitted he would consider a move to Chievo, but his wage demands remain a problem.
The interest of the Gialloblu has been confirmed, but the striker's salary of €6m a year is making the operation quite complicated.
The Corriere di Verona now reports a short line by Balotelli, in which he opens to the possibility of moving to the Serie A minnows.
“I'd go to Chievo,” Balotelli said.
The Italian is still under contract at Liverpool, but has been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Jurgen Klopp.
In the meantime, Chievo president Luca Campedelli, believed to be leading the talks personally, is still hopeful.
“Dreaming doesn't cost us anything,” he said. “Today it's still a dream and we're aware it's very difficult that all the pieces are going to fit together.
“There are some obvious difficulties from an economic point of view, not to mention the competition of great clubs that Chievo can't match.”
