Ronald Koeman's side may lose striker Romelu Lukaku before the transfer window ends, with the Belgian linked with a return back to former club Chelsea.
Everton began their Premier League season with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham, with Ross Barkley on target for the Toffees.
Kalinic could be seen as a replacement for Lukaku, though Koeman will be keen to keep him after they started Saturday's match without a recognised striker.
