Udinese deny Gokhan exit

Serie A outfit Udinese have dismissed reports linking Switzerland international Gokhan Inler with a move to England this summer.

Inler has been a revelation since moving to Italy from FC Zurich in 2007 and his performances at Euro 2008 have seen him linked with several top European clubs, including Premier League sides Arsenal and Newcastle United.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who missed just one game last season for the Friuli outfit, is under contract with Udinese until June 2012.

When asked about the Gunners' interest in the player, Udinese general director Pietro Leonardi was quick to rule out a move.

"This is an absurd story," he said.

"Nothing is true and the player has even denied this."

Inler is rated at around £5 million.
