Following showdown talks with Viola president Diego Della Valle, last season's Serie A top scorer ended speculation that he is leaving the Stadio Artemio Franchi and pledged his future to the Tuscan side.
"I had a chat with the President and that was enough, now I only want to play and try to achieve important results with Fiorentina," Toni said.
"I am totally convinced of my decision to stay here and am eager to start training with my team-mates," he added.
Delle Valle, who had fought tooth and nail to keep his prize asset, was understandably delighted with the outcome of the meeting.
"Luca understood our reasons and will stay, he is a great player and will continue to be an asset for Fiorentina," said Della Valle.
"The player knows that he is essential for our future projects, I appreciate his understanding," he added.
"It only took us five minutes to clarify all the previous misunderstandings, with no need to speak about any economical aspects.
"It isn't common to see a player give more importance to the affection for the shirt he wears than to the money, these things happen very rarely."
MILAN CLOSE TO IBRA
From one want-away star to another – Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is close to sealing a deal with Milan, according to reports in Italy.
Negotiations between the two clubs are at an advanced stage, and a move to the San Siro for the Swedish goal-getter is not far away.
Since the Bianconeri's relegation to Serie B in the fallout from the Calciopoli scandal, Ibrahimovic has made no secret of his desire to leave the Stadio Delle Alpi, and following Hernan Crespo's arrival at Inter, Milan now seems a likely destination for the former Ajax player.
The Rossoneri have been in the market for a striker since Andriy Shevchenko left for Premiership champions Chelsea before the World Cup, and with Ibrahimovic available, their search could be close to an end.
