Milan have pulled out of the race for Internacional's Alexandre Pato, paving the way for Chelsea to sign the highly-rated 17-year-old.

Pato - full name Alexandre Rodrigues da Silva - is rated at ÂŁ10 million, which is too much for Milan to gamble with for a prospect who has been touted as the new Kaka but is effectively untested at the highest level.
"[Carlo] Ancelotti tells me that Pato is a very talented youngster," admitted Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani. "But he is young and I believe that certain amounts cannot be spent on a young player because it's not written that he will become the next Kaka."
Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with the teenager, whose agent claimed last month that a ÂŁ18 million deal had been struck with Chelsea before withdrawing the comments.
