Zlatan targets Chivu

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has called on champions Internazionale to sign defender Christian Chivu before the start of next season.

The Swede, who scored 15 goals on the Nerazzurri's way to a comprehensive Scudetto triumph, claims Inter need to spend over the summer if they are to successfully defend their title next season.

And the 25-year-old has identified Romania stopper Chivu,26, as an essential purchase to add strength in depth to Roberto Mancini's squad.

"For next season we need three big buys in order to strengthen the squad, beginning with Chivu," he told Italian newspaper Libero.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic, who is currently in talks with Inter with a view to extending his contract, has called on Inter president Massimo Moratti to finalise a deal soon.

He said: "I hope it will be done with the same speed as it has been with [former Juve supremo] Luciano Moggi."
