Fabio Capello's side are full of confidence after topping Champions League Group A thanks to their 3-1 win over Rapid Vienna in midweek,but are without Emerson, Fabio Cannavaro and Mauro Camoranesi.
Cagliari coach Nedo Sonetti travels to Turin with a full-strength squad with little hope of his side earning their first away win of the season.
ROMA v PALERMO
Daniele de Rossi is out for the giallorossi so Damiano Tommasi partners Simone Perrotta. Amantino Mancini and Vincenzo Montella are out, while Antonio Cassano, Cristian Chivu and Olivier Dacourt face late fitness tests.
Defender Christian Terlizzi is former Roma boss Gigi del Neri's only injury worry.
LIVORNO v LAZIO
Livorno boss Roberto Donadoni's only absentee is Jorge Vargas as his side look to maintain their fifth place, while Delio Rossi has no injury problems in his Lazio squad.
MESSINA v CHIEVO
Alessandro Parisi, Atsushi Yanagisawa, Zlatan Muslimovic and Pereira Rafael are all missing for the Sicilians through injury, while Salvatore Aronica and Gaetano D'Agostino are banned.
Chievo are unbeaten in ten games, but are without injured Alberto Fontana, Matteo Brighi, Carvalho Amauri and Federico Cossato, while Marco Malago is suspended.
PARMA v SAMP
A fourth defeat in a row could spell the end for coach Mario Beretta with new club owner Lorenzo Sanz reporedly favouring the appointment of the charasmatic Zdenek Zeman.
Daniele Bonera, Mark Bresciano, Marco Delvecchio, and Fernando Couto are all out for Parma, while Domenico Morfeo starts a five-match ban after his red card against Reggina.
Angelo Palombo, Simone Pavan and long-term absentee Fabio Bazzani are all missing for rising Samp.
ASCOLI v REGGINA
Reggina have yet to win away from home this season, mustering a pitiful three goals on their travels, while Ascoli have not won in seven but have battling draws against Chievo and Palermo to their name, and made Inter huff and puff for last week's slender 1-0 win
Reggina boss Walter Mazzarri has a full squad at his disposal, but Ascoli counterpart Marco Giampaolo has Ivano Della Morte, Mirko Cudini, Valerio Virga, Domenico Cristiano, Daniele Adani and Corrado Colombo all missing, though Michele Fini returns.
