Mbappe, 18, has been the source of intense transfer speculation following a breakout season at Monaco that saw the principality team claim a first Ligue Un title in 17 years.
And international colleague, Varane spoke of his desire to see his international team-mate join him in the Spanish capital.
“Mbappe is a very good youngster with a huge potential. It would be a pleasure to see him here,” said the 24-year-old.
“He is also French, so he would be welcome. We will surely get the chance to discuss this.”
Reports emerged on Sunday that both Manchester City and Real Madrid had lodged bids for the France star – with numerous outlets reporting a fee of €130 million.
The Monaco forward spoke to Eurosport on Friday and, while he made no mention of his future, he did reveal that Zinedine Zidane was his hero growing up.
"The one who made me love football was Zidane. Afterwards I developed several idols but really Zidane was my very first idol," said the France international.
Mbappe has hit 15 goals in 17 starts for Monaco in the league while adding a further six in six starts in the Champions League.
