Bolton 0-1 Chelsea
Jose Mourinho: "We are not top of the league. We want to be there all the time but we had two very difficult matches. If you do it wrong you can leave Old Trafford with six points (deficit) and Bolton maybe nine points. I don't think we will take a lot of time to be top of the league."
Sam Allardyce: "In open play we limited them to shots outside the box. But right on the very stroke of half-time on a corner was very disappointing but I have to praise the players for the way they approached the second half. Unfortunately our finishing has let us down."
Fulham 2-1 Arsenal
Chris Coleman: "Over the 90 minutes we deserved it. Arsenal are at their best when the opposition attack so we said when we do make sure we're tight at the back. You need a bit of luck against Arsenal and if we've had it then we earned it."
Arsene Wenger: "The game was played at a high pace, I can't fault the team but it's difficult when you're 2-0 down early on. We're playing many games at the moment but the team showed great spirit and reactions, we fought until the end but it just doesn't seem to be going for us at the moment."
Manchester United 3-0 Everton
Alex Ferguson: "The draw against Chelsea on Sunday gave me a bit of a problem in terms of changing the team but I thought we would be okay. We have Benfica next week and I didn't want to go into that game in the position of having to use players who have not been in the team for a while."
David Moyes: "This is a hard place to come but that scoreline was not fair on us. We were well in the game when they got their first and we were trying to get it back when they got their second."
Aston Villa 1-3 Manchester City
Martin O'Neill: "I think Mr Lerner has seen a number of our games now. He has watched us do well and not so cleverly. He will be disappointed but he knows what needs to be done. There is still a lot to be done at this club for us to even become a decent Premiership side. We did not play well enough and frailties can be shown up on nights like this."
Stuart Pearce: "It is one of the best performances we have put on this season. We got a bloody nose at Wigan a few weeks ago and since then there has been a steely determination within the squad. We need to build on days like this but I couldn't ask much more from my players."
Liverpool 0-0 Portsmouth
Rafa Benitez: "They were time-wasting from the first minute, their goalkeeper was taking time walking across his area for goal kicks from very early on. The referee only put on two minutes in the first half and five in the second, but there was a lot more. In the end it is down to the referee to book players."
Harry Redknapp: "I wouldn't know what time-wasting was. I would never tell a team of mine to do that. In fact I kept shouting at our full back Noe Pamarot not to take so much time at throws because he would get himself booked. And that is what happened in the end."
