No City talks for Ranieri

Claudio Ranieri says he has had no contact with Manchester City yet.

The former Chelsea manager is believed to be top of City's wish list to take the reins following Stuart Pearce's departure.

But the 54-year-old, who saved Parma from relegation before departing the Serie A club on Thursday, says he has not been approached.

Asked if he had been in talks with City, he told Sky Sports News: "No. Not yet.

"For me it is exciting to save Parma. I like to come to England but there are also some important questions in Italy.

"But I love English football. Now there are seven or eight great teams in England.

"Everybody wants to fight for the title and that is good for the league."
