The 35-year-old limped off towards the end of the first half of the game, and is now awaiting the results of tests on the injury.
"We don't know how long Chris will be out, but I've been told it could be for a few weeks, so I'm working on the assumption he won't be available," manager Neil Warnock told the Sheffield Star.
"The physios seem to think he has hurt a ligament at the bottom of his foot, which is quite unusual, but a while ago he had a spur there and so perhaps that might have contributed.
"It might have just popped and caught something it shouldn't but Chris was in a fair amount of discomfort.
"He's been for some tests and so it shouldn't be too long before we learn exactly what the situation is and how long it will take to heal."
