Nottingham Forest sign Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town ahead of Premier League opener

Nottingham Forest have won the race for highly rated forward Omari Hutchinson, bringing the Ipswich Town winger to the City Ground for a reported £37.5 million. Hutchinson impressed for The Tractor Boys in the Premier League last season and was sought after by a host of Premier League clubs, but the 21-year-old opted for Nuno Espirito Santo's Forest.

Nottingham Forest have won the race to sign Omari Hutchinson, paying a reported £37.5 million to Ipswich Town for the winger who scored three Premier League goals last season.
Hutchinson has signed a five-year deal with Forest, who are set to embark on a European campaign.
"I’m really excited to be here and can’t wait to get started," Hutchinson said. "I’ve played at the City Ground a few times and it’s always felt like a hostile atmosphere, so I’m looking forward to playing here with the fans behind us.
"I’m going to give it my all and I’m looking forward to the challenge as it’s a new chapter for me, but I feel ready."
After a slow start, Forest's transfer window is picking up pace with James McAtee, who assisted Hutchinson's goal in the U21 Euro final, also expected to sign at the City Ground imminently and resume his partnership with one of Ipswich's rare bright spots in their relegation season.
One of Lee Carsley's key players for The Young Lions this summer, Hutchinson also made two assists for Ipswich last season and now joins Dan Ndoye, Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus in the ranks of Nuno Espirito Santo's marquee reinforcements this summer.
Forest's chief football officer Ross Wilson added: "Omari is a really exciting addition to the squad. He’s coming off a fantastic summer, winning the U21 European Championship alongside Elliot [Anderson], and arrives here full of confidence.
"He joins an already talented group of players and adds another layer of quality and energy to our attacking options. We’re looking forward to seeing him thrive in a Forest shirt."
Forest host Brentford on Sunday in their first game of the season and will be hoping their Premier League form is the opposite of their pre-season performances, where they scored just once in seven matches.
The £55m departure of Anthony Elanga to Newcastle has dulled the attacking potency of Nuno's side.
The club will hope the arrival of Hutchinson will go a long way to improving upon their poor form in the summer, but more movement is to be expected from Forest as they attempt to build a squad who can handle themselves in the UEFA Europa League.
Forest will return to European football for the first time since the 1995/96 season and are hoping to add Stade Rennais striker Arnaud Kalimuendo to their ranks and are also pushing to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus.
