FULHAM BEAT WOLVES TO CLOSE GAP ON EUROPEAN SPOTS
Fulham scored early in both halves to come away from Molineux with all three points courtesy of a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanders, moving them to within two points of fifth spot.
The London visitors started the game with a bang as Ryan Sessegnon, making his first Premier League start in two years, scored within a minute of kick-off, finishing well after being played in down the left by Andreas Pereira.
Wolves responded with a string of chances and equalised on 18 minutes when a loose ball dropped to an unmarked Joao Gomes in the box, and a hard-fought match was at level pegging at the break.
However, Fulham came flying out of the traps once again after the restart, with Adama Traore playing in the excellent Rodrigo Muniz, who finished superbly with a chip past the onrushing Jose Sa from just outside of the box.
Wolves had more of the ball and more attempts on goal in the game, but it was Fulham who created the better of the chances on the break and Marco Silva’s side withstood some heavy late pressure to pick up three points that moves them to within two points of fifth-placed Manchester City.
Defeat leaves Wolves still under threat of relegation, with both Ipswich Town and Leicester City playing later in the week with the chance to reduce the gap to two points in the scrap to avoid the drop.

SESSEGNON REVELS IN RETURN TO STARTING ACTION
Ryan Sessegnon made his first Premier League start in two years this evening, and he had the ball in the back of the net after just a minute of the game.
The left wing-back also had a part to play in the second goal and spoke to TNT Sports about his display and how confident he was when handed that chance early on:
"Obviously it’s a very proud moment for me, like you said it’s my first Premier League start in two years. It’s been a long time. I’ve had to be patient, I’ve had a lot of ups and downs with injuries, but I’m really feeling good now so I’m happy.
"I was very confident. I knew when AP [Pereira] was going to get the ball he was going to slide me through, and it was just about staying calm. That’s what I do after training every day so I was very confident."

ANDERSEN TALKS TO TNT SPORTS
Joachim Andersen, Fulham’s Danish rock in defence, spoke to TNT Sports immediately after the game, and here’s what he had to say about an important response to defeat at the weekend.
"It was so important because there’s been too many times now where we’ve lost some games we should have won, and we’ve shown time and time again that we bounce back… and we did it again today. Well done to the team, some new players came in and did fantastically, I’m very happy.
"Now we have a three-game week, so of course some guys will be tired, it’s only three days after and we’re not used to that. I think the manager’s thought was to bring in some new energy and some fresh legs and that was so important. Now we go again on Sunday against Man Utd."

FULHAM KEEP EUROPEAN HOPES FIRMLY ALIVE
Three points this evening for Fulham keeps them firmly in the mix for European qualification, and they’ve leapfrogged above Aston Villa into ninth place with this result.
The congested nature of the table means that Marco Silva’s side are now just two points off fifth, which would surely be enough to earn Champions League qualification for next season… what a story that would be!
Wolves would have eased some relegation fears with a positive result tonight, but remain at threat, sitting one place and five points clear of Ipswich Town and Leicester City having played a game more than those bottom-three sides.

FULL-TIME: WOLVES 1-2 FULHAM
The final whistle goes and Fulham celebrate a hard-earned victory built on goals that came early in both halves. Wolves huffed and puffed but couldn’t find a way back into the game despite plenty of endeavour.
96'
AIT-NOURI DENIED
Castagne makes a brilliant block to deny Ait-Nouri, who had shown sparkling footwork to twist into space in the box and conjure up space for a shot. The reaction from the Wolves players suggests that may have been the last chance.
94'
Fulham
YELLOW CARD
Fulham try and keep Wolves penned deep, but it all gets a bit too physical and Robinson is booked for crossing the line.
92'
JIMENEZ SHOULD SCORE
Fulham break and the ball drops to Jimenez in the box. He turns and shoots, but snatches at it and sends his tame effort scuttling wide. Iwobi was in space to his right and may have been the better option.
90'
ADDED TIME
There will be seven minutes added on at the end of this game and the crowd noise surges as that number is announced.
90'
FULHAM SURVIVE SET-PIECE CHALLENGE
Three consecutive corners from Wolves have Fulham in all sorts of bother, but the visitors survive that test and remain ahead in this game.
89'
CORNER FOR WOLVES
A deep cross has Fulham back-pedaling and Castagne has to deal with it, turning it behind for a corner. The crowd roar and up come the big defenders.
86'
CHANCE FOR PEREIRA
Fulham do indeed counter and do well to switch play, giving the support players time to arrive, with Pereira denied in the box by a well-timed covering challenge that sends the ball behind for a corner. Wolves deal with the set-piece well.
84'
FULHAM SIT DEEP
The shape of the game seems pretty set, with Fulham camped back with their back five, ready to hit Wolves on the break when they can.
82'
SA DENIES JIMENEZ
Fulham break and Jimenez is played in down the inside-left channel, he bursts into the box and looks to curl the box into the far corner, but his shot is slightly too close to Sa, who does well to wait and make a strong save.
80'
STILL WOLVES PUSH
Wolves have played some nice football this evening, but they trail and there’s a sense of urgency from the players and fans alike.

WOLVES MIX THINGS UP
The home side need some inspiration and turn to the bench, bringing on Doyle and Sarabia for Andre and Bueno.
76'
EXCELLENT DEFENDING
A teasing cross from Semedo seems destined for the head of the waiting Strand Larsen, but it’s really well defender by Diop to turn it behind.

FINAL CHANGE FOR FULHAM
Cuenca is replaced by Bassey as Fulham make their fifth and final change.
73'
WASTED OPPORTUNITY FOR FULHAM
The visitors break and there are plenty of options forward, but Robinson’s first touch lets him down, with the substitute allowing the covering defender to come across and shepherd the ball out of play. He’ll be frustrated by that.
