Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk said there has been "progress" in negotiations over a new contract.
The Netherlands international’s current deal expires at the end of the season, alongside Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
When asked about his future back in March, Van Dijk admitted he had "no idea" if he would be remaining at Anfield beyond the current campaign.
However, speaking to reporters in the wake of Liverpool’s 3-2 Premier League loss at Fulham on Sunday, Van Dijk provided a more positive update on his Reds future.
"There is progress, yeah," said the 33-year-old. "I don't know [if I'll stay], we'll see. Listen, these are internal discussions and we'll see.
"I love the club, I love the fans, and they were there for us again, and we wanted to reward them.
"But I want them to be there on Sunday again [at home to West Ham United] and make the stadium an amazing venue like always for us."

Van Dijk joined Liverpool for £75 million from Southampton back in 2018, and has since entrenched himself among the greatest centre-backs in Premier League history.
Indeed, in that time, he has netted 26 goals in his 313 Reds appearances and been central to the club's Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup success.
Despite falling to their second league loss of the season on Sunday, Liverpool are 11 points clear at the Premier League summit with seven games to play and are in pole position for a second title in five years.
"It was a poor day at the office for all of us," Van Dijk added.
"There were individual moments that should have been dealt with better. It was not acceptable as a team."
Liverpool are back in action against West Ham United on April 13, as they continue their march to a record-equalling 20th title.
