FULL TIME: CHELSEA MISS CHANCE TO GO TOP
Chelsea missed the chance to go top of the Premier League as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Everton at Goodison Park.
The windy conditions played their part in a scrappy affair, which saw the Blues fail to score in the league for the first time in 16 matches.
Chelsea's best chances of the match fell to Nicolas Jackson in the opening period with the forward being denied at close-range by Jordan Pickford before his header from a corner glanced the upright.
Everton failed to create anything of note in the first half but went close in the second as Robert Sanchez produced a superb stop to deny Jack Harrison from inside the box before Tosin Adarabioyo's excellent block kept out Iliman Ndiaye from a matter of yards.
The result sees Chelsea miss the chance to leapfrog Liverpool into first ahead of their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this afternoon and the Blues instead remain one point behind the leaders.
As for Sean Dyche's men, they move up 15th ahead of Crystal Palace on goal difference and with a game in hand on the Eagles.

BETO INTO THE BOOK
Beto leaves a really heavy and late challenge on Colwill and rightly picks up the yellow.
Madueke looks to catch the Everton defence out with an early inswinging cross from the right but it's too close to the near post and Pickford.

SANCHEZ FORCED INTO ACTION AGAIN
Gusto latches onto a defensive header but his touch is loose and finds Ndiaye on the edge of the area.
He is tackled but the ball drops to Mangala and he produces a curling left-footed effort bound for the top left corner but Sanchez dives to catch it fairly routinely.

CHELSEA STRUGGLING TO CREATE
Fernandez pinches it off Gueye in a really dangerous position but as he feeds Sancho to his left, Everton get back in numbers and force the winger backwards.
As Chelsea look to find the opening once again, they have little luck and their move breaks down with Tosin's forward pass running out for a goal-kick.

DISASI BOOKED
Disasi is in the thick of it once again and this time picks up a booking for bringing down Ndiaye down Everton's left.
It's Lindstrom to deliver the inswinging ball in the box, but first, Disasi and Tarkwoski have to have their wrestling match. Chelsea do clear when the ball eventually comes in.

PALMER INVOLVED OFF THE BALL
Palmer hurls Branthwaite to the ground off the ball, leading to a VAR check but no doing. Just showing his frustrations more than usual the Chelsea man.
Gusto puts in a good block to stop Coleman's cross but gives up the corner in the process. After some wrestling between Tarkowski and Disasi, Tosin heads clear.

SO CLOSE FOR EVERTON
A huge block from Tosin! Everton win the ball in midfield and can feed Lindstrom into the right of the box. His ball across the face of goal drops to Ndiaye a matter of yards out but Tosin puts his body on the line to make a crucial block.

CHANGES FOR CHELSEA
Chelsea attack well down their left but following a cross into the box, Palmer and Sancho aren't on the same wavelength and Palmer's through-ball runs out for a goal-kick.
A double-change for the visitors now as Nkunku and Madueke come on in place of Jackson and Neto.

EVERTON RESPOND TO PRESSURE
Harrison has the beating of Gusto and Sanchez can only flap at his cross into the box but Ndiaye fails to take aim and the chance goes begging.
They quickly come back at Chelsea though and Doucoure twists and turns inside the box to win the corner from Tosin. Their first of the match and it receives a roar from Goodison. Caicedo heads clear.

CHELSEA PUSHING FOR OPENER
A smart ball forward from Fernandez picks out Palmer, who looks to dance into the box. He rides a couple of challenges but is eventually crowded out. He is just starting to grow into the game though.
Neto delivers another sensational cross from the right but Young's excellent defensive header denies Fernandez from getting on the end of it.
66'
CHELSEA WASTE PROMISING POSITION
Palmer picks the ball up right on the edge of the box and is looking to cut across to find room for the shot. Mykolenko brings him down, giving away the foul in a really dangerous position, just to the right of centre.
Palmer and Fernandez adjust the angle before the latter looks to curl one into the top right corner but Tarkowski gets his head to it in the wall.

SANCHO GETTING THE BETTER OF YOUNG
Sancho bursts past Young, on the outside this time, before standing a ball up to the back post.
The ball looks to be landing at the feet of the onrushing Neto but Mykolenko gets a vital headed flick on it.

WIND CAUSING CONFUSION
A long ball over the top from Chelsea causes problems for Everton as Pickford comes out before retreating as the ball holds up in the wind.
Tarkwoski manages to clean up but the ball is soon worked to Fernandez who can find the target from the edge of the box. It fails to trouble Pickford though.
60'
PALMER NOT FIRING
Doucoure stands on the foot of Caicedo 10 yards out from the edge of the box and gives away a dangerous free-kick. That will be a sore one!
It's Palmer who steps up but his effort deflects off of the wall and out for a corner down the left. Palmer's eventual cross after going short in is wayward out for a goal-kick.
58'
YOUNG INTO THE BOOK
Young goes in robustly to the challenge on Sancho, who had skipped past him, and he picks up his fifth yellow of the season meaning he will miss the next match against Manchester City.
Fernandez's free-kick from the right goes over almost everyone and Jackson fails to keep the ball alive at the back post.

TENSIONS RUNNING HIGH
The free-kick comes in from the left and goes all the way over Tarkowski at the back post and out for a goal-kick. The defender went down though as the ball came over and wants a penalty for the challenge of Disasi. It would have been soft.
As Disasi walks past Tarkwoski, who is still on the floor, it looks like he nicks the Everton man's head, and he is really unhappy about that. The players have to be separated but play eventually goes on.
53'
NDIAYE CAUSING PROBLEMS
Some dynamic work from Neto down Chelsea' right sees the visitors win the corner but Palmer's delivery goes over everyone and curls out for a goal-kick. Not been his day so far.
Jackson, who is a bit deeper after dropping in to hold the ball up, brings down Ndiaye down Everton's left and is fortunate to not get a yellow.
