Jurgen Klopp has weighed into Liverpool's contract stand-off with Mo Salah. The forward could leave Anfield on a free transfer in the summer, with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, two more important players in the trophy-laden stint Klopp enjoyed on Merseyside, are also out of contract. The German said he wants them all to stay.

Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is desperate to see Mohamed Salah sign a new contract at Liverpool.
The forward is due to leave Anfield in the summer when his current deal expires.
He has previously hinted that an extension is unlikely after stating that there had been "no progress" in talks with the Reds.
Klopp was the man who brought the Egyptian to Merseyside in 2017 and warned that he will be near irreplacable, should he depart for pastures new.
"I hope he stays," said the German as he was introduced as Red Bull's new Head of Global Soccer.
"He’s the biggest striker LFC have had in many years. There were other really good strikers too… he’s a fantastic player and a fantastic human being.
"He’s an outstanding athlete. He is the best ambassador your country could have. I hope he stays at Liverpool."

Klopp himself left Anfield last summer, but in his seven years working with Salah, Liverpool lifted the Premier League title and won a UEFA Champions League crown, alongside four further domestic honours.
The Reds were also Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup winners in 2019.
More silverware could be on the way this season, given Arne Slot's side sit top of both the Champions League and Premier League tables.
And Salah has played a pivotal role in the success, taking his Liverpool tally to 232 goals thanks to 21 strikes across all competitions.
But he could yet leave for nothing in the summer, along with defenders Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The pair are also out of contract at the end of the campaign, with the latter attracting interest from Real Madrid.

"I'm so happy I'm not in charge in that situation and have to answer these questions now," Klopp added. "My point of view? I'd love all three to extend.
"I'm so happy they [Liverpool] are doing well. I'm in contact with Arne and some players.
"I watch as many games as I can and could, great football even if you don't support them you should watch. Maybe the best balanced in the world right now. I'm really, really happy about that."
