Erling Haaland will remain a Manchester City player for the foreseeable future after signing a bumper 10-year contract with the club.
The Norwegian striker’s new deal will keep him at City until the summer of 2034, at which point he will be 34 years of age.
His current deal was set to expire in the summer of 2027 and although no details of the contract are made public, The Athletic report the terms of this new agreement include no exit clauses.
"Manchester City is delighted to announce that Erling Haaland has signed a new 10-year contract with the Club. The Norwegian international has signed until the summer of 2034, extending his previous contract by seven years and committing the next decade of his career to the Club," read a press release.
"Manchester City is a special Club," Haaland told the City website. "Full of fantastic people with amazing supporters and it’s the type of environment that helps bring the best out of everybody.
"I also want to thank Pep, his coaching staff, my teammates and everyone at the Club as they have all helped me so much in the past couple of years. They have made this such a special place to be and now I am City no matter what.
"I want to keep developing, keep working to get better and look to do my best to try and help us achieve more success going forward."
Haaland joined City in 2022 and has played a key role in spearheading the team’s attack, helping them to back-to-back league titles, including a Premier League-FA Cup-Champions League treble in 2023.
The 24-year-old has scored 111 times in 126 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, breaking the record for most goals in a single Premier League season with 36 in his debut campaign, as well as winning the division’s golden boot in his first two seasons in England.
Even with the champions’ struggles this campaign, Haaland has hit 16 league goals to date, and 21 in all competitions.
"Everyone at the Club is absolutely delighted that Erling has signed his new contract," said City Director of Football Txiki Begiristain. "The fact he is signed for so long demonstrates our commitment to him as a player, and his love of this club.
"He has made an incredible impact already in his time here and his amazing numbers and records speak for themselves."

Haaland, son of former City defender Alf-Inge, began his career with hometown club Bryne FK before moving to Molde in 2017 at the age of 16.
After 20 goals in 50 appearances, he moved to Red Bull Salzburg in Austria in 2019, where his 29 goals in just 27 appearances – including eight in his debut Champions League campaign – saw him catch the eye of Borussia Dortmund.
On January 1, 2020, Haaland moved to the Bundesliga club, racking up 86 goals in 89 games before departing for Manchester.
