Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou intends to support Richarlison after the forward revealed plans to “seek psychological help.”
The Brazilian forward was in tears after he came off as a substitute in his national team’s 5-1 victory against Bolivia.
After the match, the 26-year-old former Everton and Watford player said he would “seek psychological help” when he got back to England.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Sheffield United in the Premier League, Postecoglou said: "Whatever Richy needs, we will help him get to the space he wants to get to.
"He put it out there because he was quite emotional after a game and we will give him support he needs, but we do that for all players and most professional clubs do."
The Australian continued: "What I will say is no one has a perfect life.
"People think footballers do things well and have all the money they need but it does not make them immune from life."
Richarlison had told Brazilian newspaper O Globo that he had been "through a turbulent time off the pitch during these past five months".
The player also struggled in his first season with the London club, scoring three times in 35 appearances, and just once in the league.
He has already scored once under Postecoglou this season as the club have enjoyed a positive start to the season, with three wins and a draw from the opening four league games.
