Trent Alexander-Arnold: Liverpool star set sights on unprecedented quadruple - 'Mentality you need to have'

Trent Alexander-Arnold admits Liverpool cannot afford many more slip ups in the Premier League title race. The Reds sit two points above Manchester City following their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend. Jurgen Klopp's side could still win all four competitions they are in this season, and Alexander-Arnold says "every single game is a must win" if they are to achieve their goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has said in an interview with CNN he wants to win an unprecedented quadruple with Liverpool this season, and admitted every match is a "must win" fixture.
The Reds currently sit in first place in the Premier League, but are only two points clear of defending champions Manchester City, who also have a game in hand.
Jurgen Klopp's side last won the title in 2019/20, but Pep Guardiola's outfit have finished top of the pile in each of the last three campaigns.
Liverpool are determined to play disrupters once again though, something Alexander-Arnold insists they are capable of doing.
"Every game is almost like a final now," the England international told CNN Sports. "Because a certain other team look like they’re clicking into gear, which means it’s going to go down to the wire as usual, which means every game is a must win, as simple as that.
"That’s the way you want it. You want to get pushed and you want to push yourself as far and as hard as you can and test yourself to the limits.
"Every single game is a must win. Even a draw feels like a loss, no matter the context of it.
"It’s going to come down to consistency and results. It would be nice to say that we’re going to win every game between now and the end of the season, but there’s a good chance that’s not going to happen and we’ve just got to limit the points that we drop.
"We need to put a good run together, which we know we’re capable of doing, and we also need to keep our mentality right, because I’m sure the pressure will be right behind us."
Liverpool's title hopes were hit by a huge blow when they lost 3-1 to Arsenal at the weekend, their first top-flight loss since being beaten by Tottenham all the way back in September.
With Klopp announcing he will step down as manager at the end of the season, his players are desperate to give him a glittering send-off that could ultimately include four winners' medals.

Klopp 'like a father to the city' - Jones reacts to Klopp's Liverpool exit

Liverpool are in the Carabao Cup final, where they will face Chelsea next month, and have already reached the FA Cup fifth round, booking a home tie against Championship outfit Southampton.
On top of that, the Reds are through to the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League, which remains the only tournament in which Klopp has competed that he has not won during his nine years at Anfield.
Lifting all four trophies would be unprecedented, but it remains the target for Alexander-Arnold.
"Between now and the end of the season, I’m fully focused on winning every single trophy possible," he added. "My aim is to go and win the quadruple. It’s only a couple of weeks before we get our hands on our first piece of silverware!
"The Carabao Cup is a 50-50 chance. I think, the other competitions are the other competitions. Cup competitions speak for themselves, because it’s knockout football.
"I would back ourselves against any team in the world to go and be able to beat them over one game, or two legs.
"European football, at Anfield, I’d back ourselves to beat any team in Europe. With the FA Cup, I back ourselves to be able to beat any team.
"I believe we’re capable of beating any team in front of us. That’s the mentality you need to have."
