Aaron Ramsdale: 'He's got to move on I think' - Peter Crouch & Rio Ferdinand suggest exit door could be looming for GK

The writing looks on the wall for Aaron Ramsdale at Arsenal, according to Peter Crouch and Rio Ferdinand. The TNT Sports punditry duo were discussing the keeper's future, and think it is unlikely the 25-year-old will oust David Raya from the team in either the Premier League or UEFA Champions League. Crouch believes Ramsdale will have to move on unless his situation at the club changes.

'He's got to move on I think' - Crouchy and Rio on Ramsdale future at Arsenal

Peter Crouch and Rio Ferdinand believe Aaron Ramsdale could be forced to leave Arsenal in pursuit of regular first-team football should his situation at the club remain the same.
Ramsdale returned to the starting line-up in the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Brentford in place of the ineligible David Raya, looking shaky on occasion as he sought to settle back into the starting XI.
He finished with a clean sheet, but the TNT Sports punditry duo believe he might be straight back out of the side once again, and that his long-term future could, as a result, lie elsewhere, with a spot in Gareth Southgate's England Euro 2024 squad also likely to be on Ramsdale's mind.
“He's got to move on I think [if it continues like this],” the ex-Liverpool striker Crouch said.
“He wants to be part of the England set-up, certainly for the Euros. Going forward, he's got a stake on the number one jersey, but he has to be playing.
“It doesn't look like he's going to be here.”
Ferdinand added that the calibre of games Ramsdale appears in could impact his decision.
“If he doesn't play the right amount of games in the Premier League, in the big games, or Champions League as well, then I don't see Aaron Ramsdale [staying],” Ferdinand told TNT Sports.
“He's worked so hard to get to the top; his journey, it's been quite a unique journey, different clubs, lower leagues, couple of relegations in there.
“He's had that adversity, got to the top, and now he's having to fight and climb again, through no real fault of his own in terms of performance.
“So I think he'll find it difficult to stay here as a number two.”

Mikel Arteta was quizzed about Ramsdale’s re-introduction into the team in his post-match interview, but the Gunners boss avoided the question, turning focus away from the shot-stopper.
While the Spaniard may be fatigued by the Ramsdale-Raya debate, it is a topic that seems likely to rage on until a resolution is found.
“Unfortunately, it is a talking point and not something that happens all the time. You've got two number one goalkeepers and no-one thought Aaron Ramsdale really did anything wrong,” Crouch added.
“Then obviously he's been replaced. So it is a topic of discussion, but not one that Mikel Arteta likes to talk about."
