Arsenal v Luton Town live: Premier League latest as Martin Odegaard fires opener to help Mikel Arteta's side move top of table with dominant home victory

Arsenal continued their quest for a first Premier League title since 2004 by moving top of the table with a dominant 2-0 win over relegation-haunted Luton Town at the Emirates.

Manager Mikel Arteta opted to make five changes from the dour 0-0 draw at champions Manchester City on Sunday with Reiss Nelson handed a first league start in four years, but it made little difference to the outcome against a spirited but limited visiting side plagued by their own injury problems. Leandro Trossard was full of praise for his team-mate after the 2-0 win over Luton Town.

The home side made five changes yet still controlled the play and pressure to move top of the Premier League.

A 2-0 victory for Arsenal, who return top of the table by a point. For 24 hours at least with Liverpool having the chance to reclaim their place at the summit against Sheffield United on Thursday night.

Fine attacking move by the Gunners on the counter attack ends with Takehiro Tomiyasu arrowing a shot a yard or two wide of goal from distance. It remains 2-0 to the home side.

Trossard forced to put the Onyedinma cross behind, but Arsenal again deal well with the Doughty corner to clear the danger.

Positional sense is of a high, high level. Luton taking up some decent attacking positions out wide, but not too many options when the ball comes over. Gabriel seems to be everywhere in organising that home defence.

Doughty on the run down the flank for the visitors, but he can't pick out his man in the middle with Morris seeing the ball clear him at the near post before Zinchenko nods back to Raya in the home goal.

Declan Rice replaces Thomas Partey with Eddie Nketiah on for Kai Havertz. Arteta clearly seeking an injection of life in his side, who are game managing the life out of Luton.

Havertz earns a yellow card for a late nudge on Clark. Looks like that might be his final action of the night.

Townsend and Chong asking questions of the Arsenal defence without managing to test Raya in the home goal. Gunners need to be alert.

And particularly by Gabriel, who rises superbly well to head clear the Doughty free-kick. A decent delivery, but Arsenal so well organised.
