"The grass is not always greener".
That's the advice of former England and Tottenham striker, Peter Crouch, amid ongoing speculation surrounding the future of Harry Kane.
The 29-year-old has a year left on his current contract and Spurs risk losing him for free in the summer of 2024.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have already had multiple bids rejected for the England captain and chairman Daniel Levy is understood to be adamant his star striker is not for sale, with Manchester United and Real Madrid also said to be interested.
With just over three weeks to go until the start of the season, Crouch offered his take on the transfer saga in an exclusive interview with TNT Sports.
"It's a difficult one with Harry [Kane]. As a person who has been involved in the Spurs camp for as long as I have, I know what a fantastic club it is," said Crouch.

What I Wore - Harry Kane

"But unfortunately the squad has not been built around him in the way it should have, and a player of that calibre deserves to be winning trophies."
Tottenham's position has long been that they will not sell to a Premier League rival, making a transfer abroad Kane's most likely option should he opt to force a move away.
But with just 47 goals separating Kane from Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League record, Crouch believes the lure of creating history could be enough to keep the striker at Spurs.
He said: "I think all Spurs fans would give him their blessing if he does want to leave, but what I would say is the grass is not always greener.
"The opportunity of becoming the Premier League's record goalscorer is not to be sniffed at.
"If he stays and goes on to break Alan Shearer's record, that's something he will be forever remembered for."
Tottenham open up their Premier League campaign away at Brentford in a tricky assignment for new manager Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou will become the first Australian manager to coach in the English top-flight and Crouch is expecting a more exciting brand of football under the ex-Celtic boss.

"Aside from Kane staying, I think what fans will most want to see this season is more attacking football," Crouch said.
"The new manager will bring fresh ideas and I expect them to be more attacking.
"I know a lot of people were underwhelmed by the appointment, but you think of the big names that they've had in the past like [Antonio] Conte and [Jose] Mourinho, it hasn't worked out.
"Postecoglou prides himself on playing attractive football and in James Maddison they've signed a player who is forward-thinking and able to get the best out of Kane."
Tottenham signed Maddison on a five-year deal for ÂŁ40m from Leicester City.
Maddison was unable to prevent Leicester from slipping to relegation despite scoring 10 Premier League goals last term but Crouch is excited by the prospect of the England midfielder linking up with Kane.
He said: "Maddison is exactly the type of player Kane needs. Too often last season he was forced to drop deep and go looking for the ball.
"With Maddison, he can drop into those half-spaces on the turn and be feeding balls into Kane.
"He is an incredibly talented player, someone who can really galvanise the team and, I'm sure, be a player that Spurs fans take to their hearts."
