Tottenham forward Richarlison has taken to social media to deny being a “mutiny leader” in Antonio Conte’s departure. The Italian left the club by mutual consent last weekend and Richarlison has revealed he has “a lot of respect” for his former manager despite the pair's controversial dispute. “I don't accept,” he said. “I’ve always had a lot of respect for Conte and for all my coaches."

Richarlison has denied being a “mutiny leader” in Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur departure.
Conte left Tottenham by mutual agreement last weekend after publicly criticising the club and players, including the Brazilian forward.
But Richarlison has insisted he had nothing to do with Conte’s exit on
, after being accused of leading a mutiny over the manager’s future in north London.
“Questioning and criticising me as a player for my performance is part of football and I got it,” he said. “However, telling lies about me, I don't accept! I’ve always had a lot of respect for Conte and for all my coaches.
“He helped me a lot in my coming to the Spurs and, whenever we had a problem (even if it was public) we solved it based on conversation and professionalism - and this he [Conte] can confirm.
“I wasn't a mutiny leader against him, it was quite the opposite. I'm sorry I didn't deliver as much as he expected of me and I didn't do enough for him to stay. When he left, I sent him a message thanking him for everything and wishing him the best cause that's what he deserves!"
Richarlison arrived at Tottenham in the summer of 2022 for £60 million from Everton under Conte’s stewardship, but is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League.
Tottenham were knocked out of the Champions League by AC Milan and after the game, Richarlison - who came off the bench in the 70th minute - told reporters he was upset about his lack of game time and that the season had been “s***”, in an outburst directed towards Conte.
The former manager responded days later, suggesting that Richarlison's comments were a self assessment of his own season in a public war of words between the pair.
Despite the heated conflict, Richarlison has insisted that all was well between the two after Conte and the club parted ways.
Tottenham were knocked out of the FA Cup to Championship side Sheffield United as well as the Champions League towards the end of Conte’s reign in a bid to win silverware for the first time in 15 years under the legendary manager.
But despite Spurs sitting in fourth place in the Premier League, the relationship between the manager and the club’s hierarchy had strained too far after Conte’s explosive post-match interview after Tottenham threw away a 2-0 lead at strugglers Southampton.
He called Tottenham players “selfish”, adding the club have won nothing in 20 years under the current ownership.
