Drogba played for Chelsea between 2004 and 2012, before rejoining for another season in 2014, and was managed by Jose Mourinho twice in those spells.
Drogba was asked about Pogba's future on French television football show Telefoot, and he suggested that Mourinho's challenging nature suggested he simply expects more from Pogba, saying:
"It’s been hot between us, but Jose is never going to attack people he does not like. He likes Paul a lot. That’s why he’s given him a lot of responsibilities."
Telefoot also say on Twitter that as far as they know, there is no concrete information that Pogba is anywhere near an exit from United.
In recent weeks Pogba has been left out of the United first team, with rumours in the English press that he is set for a move to Real Madrid this summer.
