Swansea City appoint Claude Makelele to coaching staff
Former Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder Claude Makelele has been appointed to the coaching staff at Swansea City by new manager Paul Clement.
Makelele, 43, was a key part of the first Chelsea team to win the Premier League following his arrival from Real Madrid and it was there he first met Clement.
After leaving the Blues he went on to play for Paris Saint-Germain and then join their coaching staff following his retirement, once again working with Clement who was an assistant to Carlo Ancelotti at the time.
He has now re-united with his old colleague, becoming an assistant coach to Clement in South Wales.
His other non-playing roles have included managing Ligue 1 side Bastia and acting as technical director for Monaco.
