The 32-year-old, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester United under new manager Jose Mourinho, was approached by a number of the squad when he was out injured and often pictured watching his then girlfriend, now wife, play.
The Daily Mail reports that he was told by other players that they were tired of seeing him travel around supporting the Serbian, who is ranked 31 in the world, instead of focusing on his recovery at Old Trafford.
