Mourinho calls out Rashford, team-mates stunned by Jones and Bailly treatment

We start with two explosive stories from the back pages of The Sun and The Mail. The former focuses on how members of the United squad have been left stunned by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's comments on Eric Bailly and Phil Jones' penalties during their shoot-out defeat to Derby County in the Carabao Cup. The latter story reports that Mourinho called out Marcus Rashford following the victory over Young Boys in the Champions League, the manager has made it clear that Rashford is not too important to be saved from a rebuking. These stories come as the fall-out to Mourinho's reported argument with Paul Pogba continues.
Paper Round's view: Things are going from bad to worse at Old Trafford. Reports suggest that both Rashford and Bailly are close to Pogba and there are suggestions that United are worried about the squad potentially being split over the manager's issue with their star midfielder. It looks like Pogba is certain to leave at this stage, United have to be careful not to lose more of their players over this...

Barca refuse to meet Man Utd's Pogba valuation

Speaking of the midfielder we now move to the back page of The Mirror which says that Barcelona will refuse to meet Manchester United's £200 million valuation of Pogba. Barca would prefer to wait until the summer and only value Pogba at around £100 million. The Catalan side are also banking on Pogba's desire join them rather than Real Madrid, Juventus or PSG.
Paper Round's view: Pogba will likely have to go somewhere and Barcelona seems like a good choice - but a £200m price tag will prove prohibitive. Pogba isn't worth that on recent performances.

Rodgers committed to Celtic despite China offer

In The Mail there are quotes from Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, who has said that he is committed to the club despite confirming a big-money offer from China over the summer. Rodgers is under pressure following a tough start to the season but he reiterated his desire to stay with Celtic despite offers from other clubs.
Paper Round's view: Rodgers has proven during his time with Celtic that he is capable of getting over a slow start. It will be interesting to see whether or not this is the start of the end, or simply a blip that we forget about later down the line.

New contender to take over from Abramovich

Finally we end with a report that Paul Allen has emerged as a potential alternative to Sir John Ratcliffe, Britain's richest man, should Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich decide to sell up. Allen, who owns the Portland Trail Blazers and the Seattle Seahawks, has reportedly met with Pini Zahavi about potentially buying out Abramovich. Zahavi has been sounded out about the possibility of Abramovich selling Chelsea.
Paper Round's view: As well as the Blazers and Seahawks, Allen also part-owns the Seattle Sounders so is evidently experienced in terms of running sports teams. However American sport franchise owners don't always transition well into European football so Allen would be no guarantee of success.
