Players certain Mourinho will go

We start with The Mirror, who report that Manchester United's players are increasingly convinced that Jose Mourinho will be leaving the club. The report says that Mourinho has lost a number of players and the dressing room is divided on the basis of his rants and criticism.
Paper Round's view: You could be forgiven for thinking that it is 2015 all over again given the striking similarities between this situation and Mourinho's exit from Chelsea. His departure really does seem inevitable now and the question is where does he go from here? Will any club think he's worth the drama after this?

Arsenal target Banega

We move to The Mail, who have a report that Arsenal are looking at Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega as a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsey. Gunners boss Unai Emery worked with the Argentina international during his time in Spain and sees him as a potentially key player in midfield.
Paper Round's view: Banega has proven his worth to Sevilla on a number of occasions and it never hurts to have a player your new manager knows and trusts. The interesting point here, as raised by the article, is Arsenal's more relaxed stance on signing older players.

City eye Swansea's Joe Rodon

In The Mirror it is reported that Manchester City are looking at Swansea City centre-back Joe Rodon. The 20-year-old has started the season well but is out of contract at the end of the season and has caught the eye of bigger clubs. Swans manager Graham Potter has urged the youngster to commit his future to Swansea.
Paper Round's view: Rodon has certainly come from nowhere, and it's a bit surprising to see him linked to Manchester City, but he deserves a chance in the top division. However he should certainly wait to see if that chance can come with Swansea City...

Glenn targets World Cup

Finally we end with quotes from FA chief executive Martin Glenn, who has reiterated his belief that England are close to being able to win a World Cup. Gareth Southgate's new contract has been announced and a raft of new young players have been called into the team.
Paper Round's view: In theory what England are saying is absolutely correct. They consistently have some of the best young players around and perhaps soon football will indeed come home...
