Spurs to offer Poch bumper deal
We start with some good news for Tottenham Hotspur fans and that is the club are set to offer manager Mauricio Pochettino a bumper new contract to ward off interest from Real Madrid. The report is an exclusive from The Telegraph and it says that his salary will rise to around ÂŁ8.5 million which should keep him at the club barring an incredible offer from Real. It will make him the fourth-highest paid manager in the league (third when Antonio Conte leaves Chelsea) and he should be followed by a host of players. Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Jan Vertonghen, Hugo Lloris, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min are all also expected to commit their future to Spurs.
Paper Round's view: This is a huge coup for Spurs. Pochettino is one of the most talented managers in the world and keeping him will put them in a fantastic position for the future. It has long been said that Pochettino is the glue keeping Spurs together and if all these players sign on after him that will only go to strengthen that position, and of course Spurs...
Alderweireld likely to leave
However it's not all good news, with The Mirror one of a couple of papers to report that Toby Alderweireld looks likely to leave the club in the summer. He was left out of the squad for the historic victory over Chelsea and has interest from the Blues, Manchester United and PSG as he chases wages of around ÂŁ180,000-a-week.
Paper Round's view: A year ago this would have been a catastrophe for Spurs but is it really so much any more? Alderweireld has been struggling with injuries and Jan Vertonghen has hugely stepped up his game. When you combine that with the emergence of Davinson Sanchez and the huge wages Alderweireld is demanding, perhaps this is the perfect time for Spurs to sell?
Allegri eyeing Chelsea job as he looks to leave Juve
The Sun's back page is all about Max Allegri with the Juventus manager admitting that when he leaves the Italian giants he will move abroad. Allegri has long been linked with the job at Stamford Bridge with compatriot Antonio Conte set to leave.
Paper Round's view: This is a slightly peculiar back page. There isn't a lot to the story except for a few quotes. Allegri is clearly an option for the Blues but it's hardly a clear-cut thing, both Luis Enrique and Thomas Tuchel have also been strongly mentioned. This is going to be a pivotal summer for the Blues and things probably won't accelerate until they are out of the FA Cup.
Appleton favourite for Baggies job
We end with a report from The Express that says former West Brom midfielder Michael Appleton is the favourite to take the job at the Hawthorns. Appleton, currently assistant at Leicester City, is ahead of Dean Smith, Derek McInnes and Graham Potter in the race to take charge.
Paper Round's view: Appleton has a good record as a No.2 and deserves a shot to be a manager once more. Should they appoint him, it feels vital the club leave him in charge if they do go down so he can actually build something.
