Monaco eye up Sanchez
We start with The Sun, who report that Ligue 1 champions Monaco are considering a £45 million move for Alexis Sanchez. Monaco believe they can use Arsenal's interest in Thomas Lemar to their advantage as well as the massive salary and lifestyle they could offer Sanchez.
Paper Round's view: If Monaco had kept all their players they'd be a very attractive proposition for Sanchez but with so many players leaving (and possibly more to follow) you have to wonder why Sanchez would join Monaco save for the lure of Champions League football. If Manchester City make a concrete bid you'd have to imagine that Sanchez would choose them but if no clubs make a bid between now and the end of the window that situation may change...
Spurs eye up Simeone and Meyer deals
We move to The Mirror, who report that Tottenham Hotspur are considering moves for Giovanni Simeone and Max Meyer. The former has been offered to Spurs but they are yet to make their interest formal. However they are keen on Meyer and with just 12 months left on his contract the German attacking midfielder could be available for a good price.
Paper Round's view: The season starts next week. It almost doesn't matter who they sign, Spurs just need to do something in the window. Logically Simeone seems a good back-up to Harry Kane but then again we said that last season about Vincent Janssen... As for Meyer he's evidently talented but he hasn't quite kicked on in the way that was expected. A fresh start could be just what he needs.
Bournemouth weigh up improved Gray bid
In The Star it is reported that Bournemouth are weighing up an improved bid for Demarai Gray after they saw a £20m bid rejected by Leicester City. The 2015/16 champions unveiled Kelechi Iheanacho on Thursday but are facing a fight to keep Gray with no new contract on the horizon.
Paper Round's view: is £20m+ ridiculous for Demarai Gray? Yes. Is it time to stop caring about transfer fees? Probably, with all the silly amounts of money in the game. Gray needs games and Bournemouth could offer that, plus they are a side where wingers tend to thrive. If it comes off this could be a good move for player and club. Leicester may regret not playing him more.
Costa's lawyer hits out at Chelsea
We end with The Mirror, who carry quotes from Diego Costa's lawyer, who has said he will do whatever it takes to help his client leave Chelsea this summer and hold the club accountable for their behaviour.
Paper Round's view: Chelsea have handled the Costa situation really poorly. Reports have suggested that they have known for months that Costa would be leaving and a deal should have been concluded by now. For a club that used to be so good in the transfer market Chelsea have really slacked off over the last couple of summers.
