WHEN IS THE MATCH?
Sunday 9th August - 16:00 kick-off (UK time).
WHERE IS THE MATCH BEING PLAYED?
It's at the Britannia Stadium- Here's all the stadium information you need.
WHY IS IT WORTH FOLLOWING?
It's not often two sides play one another on the first day of a season where they faced off on the final day of the previous season, too. And in this instance, that very recent memory will remain with Liverpool fans for years to come. After a disappointing league campaign was to end without the dizzy heights of the previous year when they finished second and almost won the title, Steven Gerrard's final fixture for the club he represented for his entire career up until that point ended in utter humiliation, 6-1 to the Potters. As one of the big names in the top flight, Liverpool are always expected to start each campaign strongly. In this instance, however, they have more than just expectations motivating them.
New signings who could appear in the game include Christian Benteke, James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne for Liverpool, and ex-Red Glen Johnson, Marko van Ginkel and Ibrahim Affelay for Stoke.
CAN I WATCH IT ON TV?
Yes - it will be shown live on Sky Sports, with coverage beginning immediately after the Arsenal v West Ham game which kicks off at 13:30 that day. Further details can be found here.
