Claudio Ranieri: Our fans are dreaming… but we have to try and win the league, why not?
Claudio Ranieri admits his Leicester City side are focused on winning the title after they beat Manchester City 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium to open up a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
For the first time the Italian appeared to concede that his side now have a realistic chance of becoming champions after previously stating that his team would simply take one game at a time.
He told BT Sport that he would allow himself a little celebration after the match but then added: "Our fans are dreaming… Of course there are a lot of super teams. But we have to try [and win the league], why not! "
The 64-year-old also said that the league was extremely open and that anyone could win it.
"We play without pressure because we don't have to win the league, " he told the BBC.
"We must enjoy. This league is so strange and now it is important to think about Arsenal. I want to wait until the end of April because I know the last matches are very tough.
"This is a fantastic moment for the Premier League, nobody knows who can win it. I hope my players didn't feel pressure. We have to enjoy, with a lot of confidence match after match and step by step."
