Danilo undergoing Man City medical ahead of switch from Real Madrid – report
Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Real Madrid full-back Danilo, who is undergoing a medical at the club, according to reports.
Spanish media reported that Danilo said his farewells to his team-mates before leaving the club’s tour of the USA and joining City’s contingent, who are also in the country for pre-season.
On Thursday, Pep Guardiola admitted that City were interested in the former Porto defender.
"We have many options for people, players coming, but until the deal is done out of respect for the other clubs I cannot say absolutely anything," he said.
"But (Danilo) is one option we have. I said he's a player from Real Madrid, so we are talking with not too much players but three or four players to try, if possible, to join us for not only the next season but the next three, four, five years because all of them are so, so young players.”
Danilo is expected to undergo his medical in Los Angeles before being unveiled as a City player in a deal worth a reported €30 million (£27m).
The Brazilian made 25 appearances for Real Madrid last season, often kept out of the team due to Dani Carvajal’s success at right-back.
Danilo will be Guardiola’s second signing at full-back this season, following Kyle Walker’s arrival at The Etihad. Monaco defender Benjamin Mendy is also reportedly closing on a move to the club.
